Currently, 5W Public Relations is programming a national PR campaign to support IHOP's partnership with 20th Century Fox Animation's Horton Hears a Who!, based on the beloved Dr. Seuss book by the same title. IHOP will be launching new menu items including Green Eggs & Ham and Who-cakes to celebrate the film, and it has challenged 5W to raise national awareness of the new items and drive traffic to the restaurants.
Elements include hosting bi-coastal media dinners in New York City and Los Angeles to effectively garner interest from target media - parenting publications, kids-centric publications, top newspapers and lifestyle magazines. To raise the profile of the promotion, 5W Public Relations is coordinating IHOP presence on the red carpet for the film's premiere and an IHOP-sponsored after-party that will play host to celebrity children and young stars.
These events are combined with traditional media outreach to blanket IHOP's market with press. Morning show segments featuring IHOP chefs, giveaways, recipe seeding, and online and print placements will ensure consumer attention and help drive customers to action.
