Background: 5W Public Relations was tasked
by McDonalds to raise consumer brand awareness for the launch
of the McDonald’s All American Throwback Jerseys.
Objective: 5W Public Relations was responsible
for celebrity product seeding, integration and media for
McDonald’s All American Throwback Jerseys, which were
available for the first time in retail stores.
Strategy and Tactics: By working through
the agency’s clients, contacts and celebrity stylists,
5W Public Relations had the McDonald’s All American
Throwback Jerseys placed on celebrities including: Jermaine
Dupri, Terrell Owens, Ludacris, Swizz Beatz, Twista, Vivica
Fox, Carmelo Anthony, La La, and Cedric The Entertainer.
Result: The jerseys and photos of the celebrities wearing
the jerseys received media coverage and placement on Access
Hollywood, TNT, ESPN TV, ESPN magazine, Sports Illustrated,
BET Style, Complex magazine, The Source magazine, Cover
of Dub Magazine in addition to placement in Multi-Platinum
Recording Artist Mario’s music video at no cost.
