| 5W Goes Mobile
With Scanbuy

Looking to stand out in the growing mobile applications
marketplace, New York based SCANBUY turned to 5W to drum
up mobile, advertising and venture capital community interest.
The company’s breathrough technology enables camera
equipped mobile devices such as cell phones and PDAs to
have barcode scanning functionalities. SCANBUY’s solutions
provide an interface between the physical and digital world,
creating the ultimate consumer comparative shopping tool.
Upon signing the client, we immediately arranged phone
calls for the CEO with business development executives at
both Shopping.com and Consumer Reports for a content partnership
deal. In doing so, SCANBUY gained interest from Venture
Capital firms as well as Internet partners.
In bringing the story to key media audiences, 5W secured
feature stories in such vertical publications as RCR Wireless,
InternetWeek, XtremeRetail23, Wireless Week and Digital
World that generated interest from various telecommunications
companies. The biggest impact on the company was reaching
the large consumer audience. 5W secured placements in national
daily newspapers including Newsday and Chicago Tribune and
also arranged for a series of broadcast outlets to tape
demonstrations of the company’s technology in action.
To raise the provide of it’s executive team, 5W secured
feature television interview for SCANBUY’s CEO on
Bloomberg Television, FOX’s “The Next Big Thing,”
ABC San Francisco, ABC New York, and we are currently scheduling
segments with CBS Chicago, NBC Philadelphia, NBC Dallas
and NBC Columbus.
As additional mobile devices and applications flooded the
marketplace, 5W had successfully raised the company’s
visibility to the point that it held unquestioned leadership
in its space.
