TravelWorm
TravelWorm, established in 1993, is a leading supplier of travel and leisure reservation services to casino and resort destinations in the United States. It is also one of the largest online sources of hotel rooms in Las Vegas, where the company is headquartered. The company occupies a niche position in the incredibly crowded space of online travel booking sites.
In order to create brand awareness and attain national attention, 5W Public Relations needed to incorporate TravelWorm into travel phenomena bigger than the brand itself. 5W first pinpointed the most exciting, mediagenic types of travel and then created releases touting these as national travel trends. We positioned TravelWorm at the forefront of these trends, which included mancations, celebcations and bachelorette benders. Marking TravelWorm as the leading authority on this “experience” travel, 5W Public Relations secured TravelWorm CEO Ben Rafter interviews from top outlets including The Wall Street Journal and the Los Angeles Times.
These burgeoning trends in experience travel had attracted attention, but had yet to be named. 5W’s combination of catchy names, star power and coveted travel packages propelled these trends, and TravelWorm, into the industry’s forefront. The creation of “Celebcations,” destination experiences that mimick the trips of the rich and famous, created home run opportunities for TravelWorm including Forbes, Entertainment Tonight and MSNBC. “Mancations,” travel packages tailored specifically for a men’s group getaway, also proved to be a media favorite, securing TravelWorm segments on Fox and placements in Time Out New York and In Touch.
Recently, Ben Rafter penned a series of articles for Hotel Executive on how incorporating “experience travel” into the brand has been met with unmatched success. We continue to inject the TravelWorm brand into emerging trends in the travel landscape, with recent features on Green Travel and Tweens Travel.
