The Original SoupMan's Flagship Store Reopening Case Study
Since 1984, legendary soup man Al Yeganeh has set the standard for delicious, world-renowned soups at his New York City restaurant, Soup Kitchen International. For the reopening of Al's flagship location on 55th Street and 8th Avenue in New York City after being closed for six years, The Original SoupMan tasked 5W PR with creating significant buzz around this soup sanctuary.

By designing and enacting creative initiatives including guerilla publicity efforts involving "Soup for You!" t-shirts that achieved prominent visibility on the Today Show and The Early Show, to hiring and managing a street marketing team, to running the actual re-opening event itself, 5W raised awareness for the store reopening on all fronts…resulting in lines down the street and around the corner on opening day.

In the days surrounding the store's reopening, 5W achieved complete media saturation for the client, securing over 150 feature placements including full and multi-page spreads in top New York daily newspapers as well as numerous glowing segments on national TV about the location and, of course, the soup.

As a result of our efforts, The Original SoupMan 55th Street reopening generated nearly 400 million media impressions in the world's elite media, with placements including: a six-minute segment on The Today Show, The Early Show, CNN's Showbiz Tonight, FOX & Friends, REUTERS, Associated Press, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Daily News two-page spread, New York Post, am NY, METRO New York, The Village Voice, Newsday, WPIX New York, NBC New York, WCBS 880 AM Radio, NY1, Good Day New York, NJ 12, Huffington Post, NY Mag's Grub Street, Eater.com, Zagat Buzz, MidtownLunch.com, and many more.

Our successes for The Original SoupMan continue as the company's Agency of Record.
