Overview
Jackpot.com is modernizing the way Americans play the lottery. It brings verified, official state lottery tickets online by leveraging its digital platform to give customers the ability to play right from their phone, tablet, or desktop. Active in six markets, Jackpot.com has invested significantly in responsible gaming safeguards, with default spending limits and other features built in throughout the experience, which earned them a certification from the National Council on Problem Gaming.


Strategy
5W worked with the client to launch Ohio, New York, Massachusetts and New Jersey. In addition to market launches, the agency promoted various announcements, including a partnership with the Associated Press, and membership to North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL). It also employed a robust thought leadership and data campaign, and, more recently, promoted big winners from the platform.
One of the biggest challenges in working with Jackpot.com is that a competitor or competitors were active in every market in which they entered. 5W leveraged its media relationships, caliber of investors and partners (including sports teams), and found a way to make splash.

Within one year of working together, 5W garnered the following:

For the big winner announcement in New York, the team secured 10 pieces of coverage, including two local broadcast affiliates. For the New Jersey launch, there were 13 pieces of coverage including the state's largest daily newspaper/site and business news outlet.
Additionally for the New York launch, the team secured 36 pieces of coverage, including in broadcast and daily newspapers throughout the country, as well as more than 10 placements for the Ohio launch.
