KitchenAid led this Kitchen Appliances & Home Goods AI visibility study, appearing in 38.6% of 1,176 returned answers. GE followed at 32.1%, Bosch at 30.9%, Whirlpool Corporation at 30.8%, and Breville Group Ltd at 29.3%. The study covers major appliances and countertop appliances, so these results describe the measured questions, not all consumer selection activity.

The leading appearance intervals overlap across the top group. KitchenAid's 35.9% to 41.4% interval overlaps GE, Bosch, Whirlpool Corporation, and Breville Group Ltd, placing those differences within the margin of this sample. The commercial risk is uneven engine exposure: a brand can appear often in one system and rarely in another.

Which brands lead the kitchen appliance rankings?

KitchenAid ranks first on appearance rate, followed by GE, Bosch, Whirlpool Corporation, Breville Group Ltd, LG, Samsung, Cuisinart, Frigidaire, and Hamilton Beach Brands, Inc. Appearance rates use 1,176 returned answers as the denominator. The top rankings combine results from the two measured segments rather than claiming a single winner for every appliance type.

KitchenAid appeared in 454 answers. GE appeared in 377, Bosch in 363, Whirlpool Corporation in 362, and Breville Group Ltd in 344. The leaderboard records brand naming, not a product test or a measure of product quality.

KitchenAid's interval overlaps the intervals for GE, Bosch, Whirlpool Corporation, and Breville Group Ltd. The sample therefore does not establish that KitchenAid is more visible than those brands. GE, Bosch, and Whirlpool Corporation also overlap one another, as do Bosch, Whirlpool Corporation, Breville Group Ltd, and LG where their intervals intersect.

The top brands appear across all four systems, but their rates differ sharply. The figures below use each engine's 294 returned answers. This section covers the ten highest-ranked brands by appearance.

Differences can reflect model and retrieval-tool design, rather than a brand's underlying visibility.

Engine-by-brand appearance patterns

Each cell uses that engine's own answer count as its denominator, so engines can be compared row by row.

KitchenAid illustrates the split: ChatGPT named it in 59.2% of its answers and Perplexity in 57.5%, versus 22.8% for Gemini and 15% for Claude. GE and Bosch follow a similar pattern. GE's rates range from 45.6% in Perplexity to 18.7% in Claude, while Bosch ranges from 44.9% to 17%.

Some brands depend more strongly on one engine. Yale Appliance appeared in 28.2% of Gemini answers but 1% of Perplexity answers, 2.7% of ChatGPT answers, and 1.4% of Claude answers. RTINGS appeared in 11.2% of Gemini answers but 0% of Claude answers. J.D. Power appeared in 10.9% of Gemini answers and 4.8% of ChatGPT answers, while Perplexity and Claude each named it in 0%.

Several brands were absent from Claude while present elsewhere. SharkNinja, Inc. appeared in 16% of Gemini answers, 7.1% of ChatGPT answers, and 3.4% of Perplexity answers, but 0% of Claude answers. Oster appeared in 13.3% of ChatGPT answers, 4.4% of Perplexity answers, and 2.4% of Gemini answers, but 0% of Claude answers. Kenwood had the same 0% Claude result, despite 8.8% in ChatGPT, 6.5% in Perplexity, and 4.8% in Gemini. Haier Group also had 0% in Claude after 8.5% in Perplexity and 8.2% in ChatGPT.

Which brands lead each demand cluster?

The demand-cluster results identify where named brands led the measured question groups. The chart separates general buyer-intent questions from sub-category or specific-need questions, so the two groups should not be treated as one consumer-demand measure.

Brand leadership by demand cluster

The same answers regrouped by the demand cluster each prompt was sampled for; cluster rates use that cluster's own answer count.

Cluster leadership shows where a brand's measured naming pattern is strongest. It does not establish product superiority or broader market preference. The results are limited to the cluster questions included in the 98 measured prompts.

Which sites receive citations in AI answers?

Owned-domain citation rates use 1,173 answers with retrieval evidence as the denominator. Yale Appliance had the highest owned-domain citation rate at 28%, despite an 8.3% appearance rate. RTINGS reached 20.2%, J.D. Power 8.4%, LG 7.1%, and KitchenAid 4.1%.

The citation pattern separates brand naming from source use. A maker can appear often without its own domain receiving frequent citations. GE and Bosch each had a 0% owned-domain citation rate, while Yale Appliance and RTINGS had high citation rates relative to their appearance rates.

Who is winning and who is at risk?

Measured winners are brands with broad appearance, strong placement, or owned-domain citation evidence in this study.

Measured winners

  • KitchenAid ranks first at 38.6% appearance, with 100% cross-engine consistency and a 4.1% owned-domain citation rate.
  • Breville Group Ltd ranks fifth at 29.3% appearance and has an average first mention position of 3.8.
  • LG ranks sixth at 28% appearance and has a 7.1% owned-domain citation rate.
  • Yale Appliance has an 8.3% appearance rate but a 28% owned-domain citation rate.
  • Vitamix Corporation has an 8% appearance rate and an average first mention position of 2.4.

Measured at-risk brands

  • GE ranks second at 32.1% appearance but has a 0% owned-domain citation rate.
  • Bosch ranks third at 30.9% appearance but has a 0% owned-domain citation rate.
  • Samsung ranks seventh at 25.1% appearance, but Claude named it in 6.1% of its answers and its average first mention position was 7.2.
  • SharkNinja, Inc. has a 6.6% appearance rate, 75% cross-engine consistency, and 0% appearance in Claude answers.
  • Our Place has a 0% appearance rate and 0% cross-engine consistency, although its owned domain was cited in 1.2% of answers with retrieval evidence.

What does the tally say about category structure?

The category has a visible top tier, but the leading brands are not statistically separated within this sample. KitchenAid's 35.9% to 41.4% interval overlaps GE, Bosch, Whirlpool Corporation, and Breville Group Ltd. The highest-ranked brands appear across all four engines, while several lower-ranked brands concentrate in one engine.

Third-party publishers carry much of the citation activity. ConsumerReports.org had a 49.2% answer penetration rate, compared with the highest measured owned-domain citation rate of 28% for Yale Appliance. RTINGS and J.D. Power were tracked separately in the brand list but function as cited publishers in the tally, so they should not be treated as appliance makers in brand strategy.

The celebrity and influencer-backed brands named in the brief did not lead this measurement. Beautiful by Drew Barrymore appeared in 2.9% of returned answers, Haden in 0.9%, and Our Place in 0%. These measured results do not support a claim that celebrity or influencer backing produced higher AI visibility across these prompts.

What changed during the measurement window?

The dataset records one measurement window and does not contain prior-wave results. It cannot establish change over time. It does show present engine-level divergence, including Yale Appliance's 28.2% Gemini appearance rate versus 1% in Perplexity and RTINGS' 11.2% Gemini rate versus 0% in Claude.

How should appliance brands respond to these findings?

Brands can use the measured weaknesses as a remeasurement plan rather than treating this study as a general search checklist.

  • GE and Bosch should audit the pages that retrieval tools can cite for the product questions in this study. Both brands had 0% owned-domain citation rates despite appearance rates of 32.1% and 30.9%. Remeasure owned-domain citation rate across the same engines and prompt set.
  • Samsung should inspect the query areas behind its Claude gap. Samsung appeared in 39.8% of ChatGPT answers but 6.1% of Claude answers. Remeasure per-engine appearance after publishing or improving pages that answer those question types.
  • Yale Appliance should preserve the pages associated with its 28% owned-domain citation rate and test whether its 8.3% appearance rate rises across engines. Its Gemini appearance rate was 28.2%, but it was 1% in Perplexity and 1.4% in Claude.
  • SharkNinja, Inc. should test its entity naming across source pages and product pages. It appeared in 16% of Gemini answers but 0% of Claude answers. Remeasure cross-engine consistency, which was 75%.
  • Beautiful by Drew Barrymore, Haden, and Our Place should test direct product-comparison and selection pages against the measured clusters. Their appearance rates were 2.9%, 0.9%, and 0%. Remeasure appearance rate and first-mention position where applicable.
  • Kitchen appliance makers should create evidence pages that can compete with the publisher sources cited in this study. ConsumerReports.org appeared in 49.2% of answers with retrieval evidence. Remeasure each maker's owned-domain citation rate, not only its appearance rate.

What does this mean for brands in the category?

Interpretation: broad naming and source citation are separate outcomes. KitchenAid has the highest measured appearance rate, while Yale Appliance has the highest owned-domain citation rate. A brand team that monitors only one measure can miss a weakness in the other.

Interpretation: engine-specific results need their own review. The same brand can be routinely named by Perplexity or ChatGPT and infrequently named by Gemini or Claude. Brand teams can use the engine-level results to identify where their product evidence and third-party coverage are not carrying into answers.

How was this AI visibility study measured?

This study measured Kitchen Appliances & Home Goods answers from Perplexity (sonar-pro), ChatGPT (OpenAI), Gemini (Google), and Claude (Anthropic). It used 98 prompts with three trials per prompt per engine, producing 1,176 attempted and returned answers. Appearance rates use 1,176 returned answers. Citation and source rates use 1,173 answers with retrieval evidence.

Study method

How this study was measured

  • Sampling frame fixed first: 98 prompts allocated across the demand clusters before anything was asked.
  • Same questions put to every engine: Perplexity (sonar-pro), ChatGPT (OpenAI), Gemini (Google), Claude (Anthropic), 3 trial(s) each.
  • 1176 answers returned of 1176 attempted, 1173 with retrieval evidence.
  • Product lines rolled up to parent brands using a registry fixed before scoring.
  • Appearance rate reported with a 95% Wilson interval; citation metrics counted only on answers with evidence.

The study covers two segments: large or major kitchen appliances and countertop or small kitchen appliances. It measures the specified prompts on the measurement date. It does not measure sales, market share, product performance, consumer satisfaction, or all possible appliance questions.
