Washington ranks first in the United States for search interest in cosmetic surgery. California and New York follow, according to a joint study by 5WPR and Haute MD. Florida ranks eighth nationally at 478 average monthly searches per 100,000 residents. The Brazilian butt lift is the most searched cosmetic procedure in every one of the top 10 states. The finding is based on DataForSEO API v3 search volume data, collected across all 50 states over a 12-month period.
What did the study find?
The study identifies five findings. Washington ranks first nationally with 560 average monthly searches per 100,000 residents. California ranks second at 509, despite carrying the largest total search volume of any state. Florida ranks eighth at 478, on 108,166 total average monthly searches across a population of 22,610,726.
- The Brazilian butt lift is the No. 1 searched procedure in all 10 of the highest-interest states.
- Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) is the No. 2 searched procedure in nine of the top 10 states.
- Breast procedures (breast lift or breast augmentation) hold one of the top three spots in five of the top 10 states. Those states are Washington, Utah, Colorado, Florida and Georgia.
How was the study conducted?
5WPR and Haute MD compiled a set of 300 cosmetic surgery keywords for the analysis. The keywords came from the procedures profiled in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons' 2024 Plastic Surgery Statistics Report. Terms included "cost of tummy tuck," "blepharoplasty near me" and "rhinoplasty before and after."
Average monthly search volume for each keyword was collected over a 12-month period for all 50 states using the DataForSEO API v3 (Google Ads Search Volume data). Volumes were aggregated at the state level and adjusted by population for comparability. States are ranked by average monthly search volume per 100,000 residents, highest to lowest.
Why does Florida rank eighth?
Florida ranks eighth nationally with 478 average monthly searches per 100,000 residents, drawn from 108,166 total average monthly searches against a population of 22,610,726. The Brazilian butt lift leads the state at 19,533 searches per month, followed by blepharoplasty at 10,858 and breast augmentation at 6,517 average monthly searches.
Florida is the only state in the top 10 where blepharoplasty outranks nose reshaping among the three most searched procedures. That pattern points to a stronger facial rejuvenation signal in the Southeast than the national data shows overall, an area 5WPR's Florida practice tracks closely for beauty and wellness clients in the state.

The Brazilian butt lift ranks first in every one of the top 10 states. Blepharoplasty and either breast augmentation or nose reshaping fill the second and third positions in most states, as the table below shows.

Are breast procedures rising in search interest?
Searches for "breast surgery" rose 69.5% since the start of 2023, according to Google Trends. Searches for "breast reduction surgery" rose 22% since December 2024, according to the same source.
The state-level data reflects that trend. Breast lift or breast augmentation ranks among the three most searched procedures in five of the top 10 states: Washington (No. 2), and Utah, Colorado, Florida and Georgia (No. 3).
